Background

Proximus is a multi-service telecommunications and entertainment company. Being vertically integrated, Proximus implements a considerable number of technologies, internal processes and customer-facing processes: its cost structure is complex. The task of the Accounting and cost modelling team is to represent this structure in a concise and relevant way, using models. These calculate the economic costs of product lines. These models are used to produce the information and documents required by the various regulatory obligations incumbent on Proximus.

Job description

You will develop calculation models to determine the economic costs and cost prices of one or more of the companys business areas. The areas covered by this function are mainly related to the costs of sales and post-sales operational processes.

You maintain and improve cost models that establish causal relationships between operating expenses and the main product lines.

You closely monitor the evolution of Proximus product lines and anticipate changes in cost models. You contribute to keeping Proximus products and services in line with current regulatory constraints in terms of price/cost relations. You will structure your modeling work in a clear and auditable way, and regularly communicate the broad outlines to management. You interact frequently with your colleagues in order to maintain a coherent link with other areas and to enable the integration of your models with those of other team members.

During the course of this role, you will accumulate knowledge (through on-the-job training and/or others) in the regulatory field and collaborate - based on your cost expertise - in the resolution of (new) regulatory issues.

Your profile

• University degree in economics or equivalent.
• Multiple years experience in cross department collaboration within Proximus.
• Multi-disciplinary mindset, able to establish links between fields as varied as finance and accounting, processes and product lines.
• Ability to acquire reliable and plausible data from internal and external sources, with a critical eye.
• Able to process large quantities of data (use of programming, advanced functions in excel, MSAccess sql and queries).
• You dont shy away from complexity, and you make good use of abstraction when necessary.
• You have a sense of responsibility
• You are a team player, flexible and willing to share your knowledge.
• You are curious and willing to learn/understand new fields.
